Circularity at its core
At the heart of the Pavilion, the Netherlands will present technologies that can harness the infinite power contained in water. Technologies that might even go a long way towards ending our dependency on fossil fuel. A transition towards clean and renewable energy.
Circularity is a system for making limited materials available without limits. In addition, we use unlimited energy sources such as solar and wind energy, which are infinitely available but only available rhythmically (day-night/summer-winter).
The pavilion is not only designed according to the levels of circularity, but it is also designed as a material depot. Everything necessary for development is identified, registered and documented (Madaster). The basic principle is that all materials become available again through Re-assembly. Raw materials can be dismantled and reassembled to the maximum extent possible and can therefore be reused in the future without loss of value. It gives the depot (building) the character of an accessible material bank.
