The relationship between Japan and the Netherlands began in 1600 with the arrival of the Dutch ship De Liefde in Kyushu. This partnership led to the establishment of Rangaku learning centers, enabling knowledge exchange and aiding Japan's modernization.

Our partnerships play a vital role in delivering a successful participation in Expo 2025 Osaka. The Netherlands’ participation will showcase public-private partnership in many ways, including pavilion, programming and sponsorship.
