A Dutch trade delegation of companies and research institutes, led by Jacqueline Vaessen, Tom van Aken, Moniek Tromp, and Karlo Van Dam, will visit Japan from 14 to 19 September 2025 as part of the Sustainable Chemistry trade mission.

Opportunities in Sustainable Chemistry in Japan

Japan is making significant strides towards sustainability, aiming for a 46% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This presents great opportunities for Dutch businesses offering innovative solutions in sustainable chemistry and circular materials.

Who should join?

This mission is open to Dutch companies (start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs) and research institutions active in sustainable chemistry, particularly in:
✔ Plastic recycling
✔ Advanced materials (e.g., lightweight composites, battery materials, medical materials, coatings)
✔ Biobased materials
✔ CO₂ capture and utilization (CCU) technologies
✔ Making chemical processes more sustainable.

Programme & Expo 2025 Osaka

The mission will include tailored matchmaking sessions, company visits, and networking opportunities. Participants will also visit the Dutch pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, highlighting Dutch innovation in sustainability.
